Jacob's Creek Sparkling Rose Wine and Grilled Chicken ~ A Perfect summer cominbation

We (me and the husband) both like wines and keep trying new ones. So, when I was offered a bottle of Jacob's Creek Sparkling Rose wine to try a few days ago, I gladly accepted it. On a hot summer evening this weekend,  we unwind-ed with grilled chicken & sparkling wine; it turned out to be a delightful combination.

The Press kit says this about the wine - 'Jacob’s Creek Sparkling Rose'A very attractively priced sparkling Australian wine (INR 1400), is soft and round, with lingering berry flavors. The generous red berry and citrus fruit flavors enrich the palate with creamy yeast autolysis providing depth and flavor. Soft pink color with a fine and persistent mousse, the wine is bottle-fermented with the Pinot Noir characters are well showcased in this wine, with fresh strawberry and red currant notes followed by some delicate citrus from the Chardonnay.

I never had sparkling red wine before, so it was a new experience for me. We had grilled a chicken & few veggies (asparagus, onion & tomatoes). The husband has a simple recipe for marinating chicken - mix yogurt, mint paste, chilli flakes, seasoning and refrigerate for an hour. The veggies were grilled directly and seasoned on the griddle itself.
Now, coming to the wine - the bottle opens easily & fizzes nicely. It has a zingy feel on the first sip and then the fruit flavors take over. For us, it was a perfect combination with the grilled chicken & veggies, balancing the smokiness of the food with its fruity & citrusy tones. We totally enjoyed Jacob's creek sparkling red wine and recommend it this summer.
